    Great food and great staff

Didnt like the old fire doors

The food was excellent and room service was prompt and good.

There is no elevator so carrying a heavy suitcase up the stairs with all the firedoors was not good at all.

The hotel is situated right next to the Beach, very warm and welcoming. The use of the gym/spa facilities were rewarding at the end of a days work. It was really nice to have breakfast overlooking the sea.

Very minor but I reported that my tv did not work and it was not replaced.

Leisure facilities on a very wet and windy couple of days. Breakfast food and service excellent. Have used restaurant as non-resident on other occassions when food and service were excellent too.

Unfortunately our stay was ruined by an extremely noisy central heating system (room 121) which banged and clattered waking my wife and self serveral times in the night. The only, partial, solution was to have the heating on full and open the window wide. This was most unsatisfactory. Also in the morning we were disturbed by a machine in what I imagine was the kitchen below. I complained to the receptionist who was sympathetic but who offered no recompense. I would not consider using the Cooden Beach Hotel again, or recommending it, unless you could guarentee that problems like the ones we suffered would not recur.

Location : Near De La Warre Pavillion which is splendid> Lovely little old fashioned pool.

paid 140 pounds for a family room and we had drilling at 8am from below >Found this unacceptable and disappointing. When we mentioned this at reception we were offered a complementary cup of tea _ in our room_ not a peaceful proscect. not good enough.

It was 500 yds from Cooden Beach Golf Club

    Poor shower pressure, small towels.

  • Group of friends

The hotel was convenient for myself, friends and family some of whom are disabled to stay in comfort within reach of a family wedding in Bexhill.

It was a very pleasant location, the beach was lovely my son loved walking on there first thing in he morning.

I didnt like the fact that there wasnt a lift. As I have a 2year old son you can imagine it was quite hard work checking in & checking out (four trips up &down stairs with a toddler!!) also I was told that breakfast wasnt served until 8am @ the wkends so again with my 2year old not good

My husband and I needed a few days rest and fresh air by the sea following an exhausting few weeks in the run-up to Easter. The Hotel met those requirements very well. It was comfortable, clean and the dinners were of a good standard.

The breakfast food although plentiful was spoilt by lukewarm tea coffee and toast. A serving idea common in meditraenean hotels is to have coffee/tea kept hot at an electric point in the dining room. A toaster in the dining room helps provide hot toast too. We experienced a strange situation in the lovely bathroom in that the cold tap delivered hot water for at least 4 minutes - this almost led to scalded feet in the first bath taken.

    The Beach side location

Hotel was dated and rooms in need of redocation and modernisation. Breakfast was buffet style and the cooked food congealed

They knew nothing of our reseration but luckily they had plenty of spare rooms.

the tempu mattress . pure comfort . clean rooms and right on beach . the pool was warm first day but was quiet cold on our second day . also not your fault i know but we were woken by the beach cleaning lorrys at 7.30am , and at 8 am the lawn mower . so not as restful as hoped . I also feel the staff could have been a little more friendlier a smile and good morning goes a long way . .

no one to carry luggage , as my husband had just had shoulder operation it was difficult for him to take the suitcase upstairs . a lift in the hotel would be good , so not disabled friendly . breakfast was served rather quickly as soon as we had eaten cerials the hot breakfast was bought to table , no time inbetween , we stayed a time when buffet was not available due to only a few people staying , it just felt a bit rushed . we also ate in the ocean resterant and i think for the price the portions could have been a little bigger , but other than that food was good . a smile from some staff would have been nice . . also not your fault i know but we were woken by the beach cleaning lorrys at 7.30am , and at 8 am the lawn mower .,
